About this series: 

These paintings are a product of attending a month long residency at Fundación Valparaíso in Mojacar, Spain in 2010. They are painted on pieces of clear-primed, unstretched linen because materials needed to fit in standard-sized luggage for travel. I painted/drew from the country side daily, but choose to focus on a series of portraits centered around the other participants of the residency. Participants were encouraged to have their meals together. Here we were able to share our triumphs and struggles in each day's creative practice, learn about each other's culture and background, and lean on each other for insight and perspective.
