About the work....

I am interested in how the medium of paint can achieve the likeness of the subject I’m trying to represent, without trying to replicate or replace what could just be depicted in a photograph. I want the viewer to recognize that my work is made of paint: an elaborate and delicate dance of brush strokes, vibrant colors, and textural marks. The viewer can simultaneously see these painterly strokes while also vividly seeing a subject that feels real and alive.
